Cheboksary

Cheboksary is the capital of the Chuvash Republic. Cheboksary is situated on the right bank of the Volga River. In 1555, the Russians built a fortress on the site of Bulgarian-Chuvash settlement and established a fortress here. Cheboksary is also noted for its churches. Vasily Chapayev was born in a village called Budayka as it’s now part of Cheboksary.

Within the city you can find Tractor Plant Concern, Cheboksarskiy Elektroapparatniy Zavod (Cheboksary Electrical Devices Factory) and instrument-making plant Elara. The first branch of the Federal IRTC ‘Eye Microsurgery’ was opened here.

Nowadays Cheboksary is considered to be one of the most comfortable cities of Russia.

Cheboksary Airport
(IATA: CSY, ICAO: UWKS)
     International Airport of Cheboksary located 7 km (4 miles) southeast of Cheboksary near Skvortsov Square. From here you can fly to Moscow, Antalya, Sochi, Surgut, Yekaterinburg and Adler. It’s available to reach the airport from downtown by a trolley bus. Three-star DIS Hotel located in 10 minutes from the Airport. Close to the Hotel you’ll be able to visit Vasily Chapaev’s Museum, Cheboksary Museum of Art, Drama Theatre, Olympiysky Stadium, TV tower, playground and entertainment center Mega Galaxy.

Cheboksary Train Station

     The train station of Cheboksary is in 5 minutes from the downtown. Actually, it is at the downtown. There are 1 original train to Moscow and 3 suburban trains to Kanash. Lenin prospect, where all of the administrative objects of Cheboksary and the whole Republic are situated, links up the train station and the downtown hotels.

Cheboksary Bus Terminals

There are two bus terminals in Cheboksary. They are situated near the train station. An old one (Suburban Bus Terminal) located near the building of the train station – you should get through the underground passage in order to reach it.

The new one (Interurban Bus Terminal) can help you to get to Ivanovo, Izhevsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Kazan, Dzershinsk, Aktobe and many others. In the every district of Cheboksary (Kalininsky, Leninsky and Moskovsky) there is a bus station. While making a reservation, please be noticed that all of the terminals are closed at nighttime.
